The Fresh Express production facility in Morrow Georgia will produce retail and food service salads, and ship fresh products directly to customer’s distribution centers in several states.

FDG designed the expansion for the Morrow, GA facility to handle two salad assembly lines (Bowl Lines-Ready to Eat Salads).

The project will provide the two lines designed to produce salad bowls in a high care environment @ 34 degrees Fahrenheit. The High Care environment exceeds USDA requirements.  The produce and protein product used in each bowl is received in various flex cooler/freezers ranging in temperature from 5 to 34 degrees Fahrenheit.  The 5 degree freezer areas, holds the protein products (beef/chicken) which are added to the final salad bowl.  The facility consists of 3 primary areas: 1) Staging area, 2) High Care and 3) Packaging – including a mezzanine which feeds cardboard boxes and packaging materials to where products were weighed, labeled and shipped.

Major focus of the design dealt with state-of-the-art processes to ensure the highest degree of Cleanliness & Sanitation which exceed USDA standards. Completion is projected for March 2019.
