THE FULL STORY
Working in concert with County and Juvenile Court officials, as well as with the architectural firm of Turner Associates, FDG provided pre-architectural operational and space programming services to establish the 110,000-SF scope of the courthouse.
The four-story, $27 million courthouse provides six courtrooms and office space for the Court Administrator, District Attorney, Probation Department, Child Advocacy, Public Defender and Clerk of Courts. A $5 million, 698-space parking deck is located adjacent to this building and accommodates the parking needs for both the juvenile courthouse and jail.
FDG also provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety/fire protection systems engineering services for the courthouse’s design. Construction began during the summer of 2005 and was completed in 2006. Upon completion, the facility received a LEED Silver Certification earning 36 out of a possible 69.
