CAMPUS MASTER PLAN AND MULTIPLE PROJECTS
Due West, SC
FDG has maintained a successful, ongoing relationship with Erskine College for over 15 years, providing a wide range of professional planning, design, management, and fundraising services for numerous campus projects. These projects have helped ensure that the College’s current and future facilities ably support its dedication to “excellence in learning.”
The College first retained FDG to develop a comprehensive master plan that reflected the college’s goal to create an aesthetically pleasing campus modeled as a “small academic village.” Several existing historic buildings helped establish the overall theme for the campus. The master plan called for the restoration of existing facilities and construction of new buildings designed within the historical context of the campus, maintaining harmony with the College’s historically significant environment.
Building on framework established by Campus Master Plan, FDG was selected by the College to provide services for several specific projects, including:
- Bell Sports Complex: Design-build project for new building complexes for tennis and baseball facilities.
- Bowie Art Center: Design-build of a 14,000 SF, two-story museum and gallery housing traveling exhibits and three permanent collections, along with state-of-the-art classroom space with lecture and audiovisual facilities.
- Daniel-Moultrie Science Center: Design-build services for 47,000 SF, two-story building housing chemistry, physics, and biology laboratory and instructional facilities.
- Student Housing: Completed renovations to Grier, Bonner, Carnegie, and Robinson Hall dormitories, along with program for new construction.
