UNIVERSITY OF WEST GEORGIA
- 614 bed student housing development.
- Fast-track project.
THE FULL STORY
The University of West Georgia’s new on-campus student housing project involved many facets, including a fast-track schedule, affordable rental structure and privatized funding. This was the first design/build project for this University. The new 614-bed, on-campus, student housing development consists of three, four-story halls, in a mix of single and double occupancy suites. A central recreation building supports the three halls, providing recreational/game rooms, an aerobics studio, a common area, kitchen and support spaces.
FDG helped guide the University through the D/B process and worked closely with financial partners to achieve the lowest cost and deliver competitive and affordable rents for the students. The highly qualified team of experienced professionals assisted the University in planning, financing, designing and constructing the new housing in order to meet the specific design requirements of the University and to accommodate the needs of the students in terms of affordability, function and move-in date.
